Nathan Romero was the top predictor at this week’s Atomic City Roadrunners’ pace race.
This week’s pace race, held Tuesday, started at Piñon Park in White Rock.
Romero finished the race just 17 seconds off his predicted finish time Tuesday, topping next-closest finisher Bob Weeks by four seconds. Karen Thorn was 35 seconds off.
Ben Rees was the top finisher on the 1-mile course Tuesday, completing the short course in 6:27. Jackie Peckham was the top female finisher with her time of 28:15.
On the 3-mile course, Michael Jablin edged Jamie Jablin by one second for the fastest finish. Michael Jablin’s time was 19:08. Thorn was the fastest finishing female on the 3-mile course with her time of 34:27.
The next pace race, the annual Gravel Pit Grunt, will start near the S-Site firehouse on N.M. 501.
