Alexander Romero had the top prediction in this week’s Atomic City Roadrunners’ pace race.

The pace race was held Tuesday in Lower Bayo Canyon and featured both a 1- and 3-mile course.

Romero, running on the 3-mile course, finished just two seconds off his predicted time to take the top spot this week. The next closest predictors included Jeff Hill (13 seconds off) and Deidre Witherell (15 seconds off).

On the long course, Michael Jablin was the first finisher, completing the course in 20 minutes, 23 seconds. Witherell was the fastest female finisher on the 3-mile course with her time of 22:15.

Tom Sandford was the first finisher on the 1-mile course (13:53). He was followed by Inez Ross (15:23).

The next pace race will be held Tuesday on San Ildefonso Road, approximately one-quarter mile east of Big Rock Loop on North Mesa. The race will start at 6 p.m.
