Ben Rees had a spotless prediction at this week’s Pace Race.
The Pace Race is a weekly event hosted by the Atomic City Roadrunners. It is held Tuesdays at various sites around Los Alamos County.
Tuesday’s race was held on the Cañada del Buey Trail in White Rock. In all, 24 walkers and runners took part.
Rees, running on the 3-mile course, had a perfect prediction of his finish time. He needed it, as the next two closest finishers, Ted Romero and Bob Reedy, were a total of three seconds off their finish times.
Dan Kelly had the best prediction, a 42-second error, on the 1-mile course.
On the short course, the fastest finisher was Marin Kelly, who crossed the finish line in 9:43. On the long course, Jamie Jablin had an 18:30 to pace the field.
The next Pace Race will start at the Los Alamos County Ice Rink. The race starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
