Edie May Phillips was the best predictor at Tuesday night’s pace race.
The pace race, hosted by the Atomic City Roadrunners, was held at held in Upper Bayo Canyon on North Mesa. In all, 50 runners and walkers took part, the largest number participating in a pace race this season.
Phillips finished with just a 2-second prediction error in Tuesday’s race. Phillips edged out Christine Doyle, who finished with a 5-second error.
Other top predictors were Alexander Romero (15 seconds),
Ashley Mamula (22 seconds), Sophia Mamula (24 seconds) and Chris Mamula (27 seconds).
Fastest male and female on the 1-mile course were Daniel Romero (6:54) and Eowyn Pedicini (8:18). Fastest male and female on the 2.7-mile course were Michael Jablin (17:58) and Laura McClellan (21:.51).
Next week’s pace race, scheduled for Tuesday, will be Stan’s 26th Annual 39th Birthday Run.
That race will be held at Piñon Park in White Rock starting at 6 p.m.
Free birthday cake and refreshments will follow the race. The public is invited to attend.
