Running: McClellan is a dual winner Tuesday

Laura McClellan was the fastest female finisher and the top predictor at Tuesday’s Atomic City Roadrunners pace race.

Tuesday’s pace race was held in Upper Bayo Canyon. In all, 23 runners and walkers took part on the 1- and 3-mile courses.

McClellan was off by just 3 seconds from her predicted finish time Tuesday, easily topping second-best predictor David Kratzer’s 24 seconds and Jackie Peckham’s 27 seconds.

On the 3-mile course, McClellan finished with a time of 24:57. Ted Romero was the top male finisher on the long course coming in at 21:42. Jeff Hill was second on the long course with a time of 23:26.

On Tuesday’s 1-mile course, Bob Westervelt was the top finisher (14:29), followed by Bob Weeks (14:41).

Georgia Pedicini was the top female finisher on the short course, finishing in 15:44. Anya Gonzales was second (15:53).

The next pace race is scheduled for Tuesday. It is the last race of the season, the 1.5-mile Cooper Run.

The race will start at 6 p.m.
