Sarah Kratzer was the top predictor at Tuesday’s Pace Race.
The Pace Race is a weekly run hosted by the Atomic City Roadrunners in various spots around Los Alamos County. The race was held in Bayo Canyon.
Kratzer, running on the 3-mile course, not only finished with the best prediction but was also the first female to complete the course. Kratzer’s time of 28:55 was just five seconds off her predicted finish time.
Ted Romero was 10 seconds off his prediction on the 3-mile course, while Georgia Pedicini was 21 seconds off and Tom Sandford was 23 seconds off.
Jamie Jablin was the fastest overall finisher on the 3-mile course Tuesday, posting a time of 18:35. On the 1-mile course, 9-year-old Marin Kelley was the fastest female finisher (9:32) and 7-year-old Zac Jones was the fastest male finisher (12:27).
The next Pace Race will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. It will be run on the Cañada del Buey trail in White Rock starting near Chamisa Elementary School.
