Patrick Doyle was the winner at this week’s Atomic City Roadrunners’ pace race.
This week’s pace race was held Tuesday at Water Canyon Sandtrap off N.M. 4.
Doyle finished 14 seconds off his predicted time, finishing well ahead of the other predictors in Tuesday’s race. Alexander Romero was second with a 39-second error. Several runners were off by 45 seconds.
On the 1-mile course Tuesday, Haley Bridgewater finished with a time of 10:46, topping Shannon Doyle by eight seconds. George Glass was second at 13:55 and 5-year-old Noah Bridgewater finished in 14:55.
On the 3-mile course, Michael Jablin finished in 20:31, coming in ahead of Romero’s 22:09. Laura McClellan crossed in 25:32 and Theresa Wilson posted a 31:48.
The next pace race will be at the Sullivan Field track.
Instead of predicting finish times, runners and walkers will predict distance covered in 15 minutes or 60 minutes. Pottery will be awarded to the race winners.
