It was a rough commute for those heading off the Hill Thursday as a one-vehicle rollover accident closed one lane of traffic on N.M. 502 heading east about 4:30 p.m. Damyan Brown of the New Mexico State Police said that a 38-year-old Galisteo woman was heading eastbound when she swerved to avoid a piece of wood in the road and she hit the guard rail. Brown said that caused the vehicle to flip on its side and then landed on its top. The woman was eventually transported to Los Alamos Medical Center. Brown said she had a cut lip and a bump on her head. Brown said no citations were issued in the crash. Traffic was backed up about a mile and the accident was about a mile west of the Totavi Gas Station. By 5:15 p.m., the accident was cleared and the traffic was moving smoothly.
