Georgia Pedicini picked up the victory in the final Pace Race of the 2013 season.
The last Pace Race was Tuesday night at the Canyon Rim Trail. It was the Cooper Run, which helps participants gauge their level of fitness and whether it has improved over the course of the Pace Race season.
Pedicini finished just 9 seconds off her predicted time at Tuesday’s race. She topped Lauraine Maness (12 seconds off) and Jennifer Reglien (18 seconds off) to earn the best prediction.
The fastest finishers included Paul Elkins for 1 mile (12:54), Linda Vance for 1.5 miles (14:27), Rose Nyenhuis for 2 miles (14:36) and Ted Romero for 3 miles (19:50).
The weekly Pace Races are hosted by the Atomic City Roadrunners, a local racing club.
Club president Ted Williams said the next Pace Race season will begin on April 1.
The Roadrunners will also take part in two upcoming races, the Veterans Benefits 5K Nov. 11 and the CROP/Turkey Trot race Nov. 24.
For more information about the Roadrunners, visit the club’s website, atomicrunners dot com, or call Williams at 672-1639.
