Cecilia Rivenburgh was by far and away the best predictor at last week’s Atomic City Roadrunners’ Pace Race.
The Pace Race, which was held Tuesday, started at the bottom of Quemazon Road and went up to the top and toward the Perimeter Trail. In all, 20 runners and walkers took part.
The next Pace Race is scheduled for Tuesday starting at Estancia Way in White Rock.
For the Quemazon race, Rivenburgh finished with a predicted finish time just 4 seconds off her actual finish time. Only a handful of others had better than a triple-digit error.
The top finisher on the 2.87-mile course last week was Ted Romero, who came in at 22:34 — he finished nearly two minutes better than he did on the same course in 2012. On the 1-mile course, Bob Weeks was the top finisher at 13:35.
Tuesday’s Pace Race is scheduled for 6 p.m. The course is a 1-mile loop and participants can choose their own distances, but must finish in 45 minutes or less.
