The following restaurant inspection reports were provided by the New Mexico Environment Department.

Andiamo, 322 Garfield St.
Date inspected: Nov. 16
Violations: One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — dishwasher solution is not dispensing into the dishwasher. Temperature, 149 degrees, not adequate for hot water sanitizing. Three low-risk violations, two for floors/walls/ceilings — carpeting is used in the bread cutting area. Few tiles by the hand sink wall are missing. Seal. Remove carpeting around this area of dining room, where loaves of bread are sliced. Remove within three months. One violation for ventilation/lighting — light bulb in walk-in cooler does not have cover. Corrected during inspection.

Date inspected: Nov. 19, opening
Violations: One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — dishwasher-sanitizing solution is not dispensing into the dishwasher. Eco Lab company has been contacted. QAT sanitizing solution in the three-compartment sink is good at 200 ppm.
Notes: Change of ownership, existing facility. Do not use the hand sink as storage for used ice.
Status of establishment: OK to operate, issue permit.

Casa Real Health Care, 1650 Galisteo St.
Date inspected: Nov. 21, closing
Status of establishment: Close under the current ownership, transfer of ownership has occurred.

Giant 6375, 2776 Sawmill Road
Date inspected: Nov. 15
Violations: One high-risk violation for improper holding — improper cold holding, ham at 48 degrees. Corrected.
Notes: New menu items. All food pre-cooked.

Kitchen Angels, 1222 Siler Road

Notes: Good operation.

La Cocina de Clara, 4350 Airport Road
Date inspected: Nov. 15
Violations: Three moderate-risk violations, two for contaminated equipment — deep chest freezer unit surfaces are filthy. Clean. QAT test strips are not available. One for animals/vermin/openings — the screen on the screen door is torn and dusty. Replace. Three low-risk violations, one for storage — case of soda was stored on the floor in the dry storage room at the back of the dining room. One for ventilation/lighting — the vents above the exhaust hood are greasy. One for floors/walls/ceilings — the vents above the exhaust hood are greasy.

Residence Inn by Marriott, 1698 Galisteo St.
Date inspected: Nov. 21, opening
Violations: One moderate-risk violation for improper holding — no thermometer inside refrigerator.
Status of establishment: Approved, issue permit, new food establishment.

Salazar Elementary School, 1300 Osage
Date inspected: Nov. 15
Violations: One high-risk violation for improper holding — some individual boxed juices were left at room temperature. These were placed in the cooler when the inspector showed up. Corrected. All were discarded. One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — the dishwasher detergent and chlorine containers ran empty and yet trays were being washed without soap and sanitizer. Corrected. Containers were replaced during inspected.
Notes: Chemicals for the dishwasher must be checked regularly to make sure they are not out. Have all cloth towels replaced with new ones. The towels available look dull and old.

Santa Fe Care Center, 635 Harkle Road
Date inspected: Nov. 19, opening
Violations: One low-risk violation for floors/walls/ceilings — the walls by the hand sink and the three-compartment sink are cracking. Seal.
Status of establishment: Approved, OK to operate, issue permit. Existing facility, change of ownership.

Date inspected: Nov. 21, closing
Status of establishment: Closed, there has been a transfer of ownership.

Sunrise Family Restaurant, 1851 St. Michael’s Dr.
Date inspected: Nov. 14
Violations: Three moderate-risk violations, one for improper holding — one of the reach-in units did not have a thermometer. Food temperatures are good and thermometer was replaced during inspection. One for contaminated equipment — chlorine test strips by the dishwasher are old and look like they have never been used. Corrected. One for animals/vermin/openings — the back door has an opening underneath. Seal so no rodents can crawl in through this opening. Two low-risk violations, one for floors/walls/ceilings — the walls by the back door area are cracking and peeling. Also, the wall in the dry storage room has a big crack all the way from the ceiling wall to the base of that wall. Seal. One for ventilation/lighting — the light bulbs in hallway area to the back door and also the light bulb in the dry storage room are not shielded.
Notes: Use the metal pans in cooling down foods instead of the plastic containers. Store raw meats at the bottom of shelf in the under counter unit. Corrected. Make sure the test strips for chlorine and QATs are used daily to check the sanitizing solutions. Walk-in cooler looked clean and organized. All food items labeled and dated and temperature log for that unit is kept.

Violations: None
Notes: Facility approved for opening to serve. Hand sink operating properly and accessible hot and cold water. No hot holding at time of inspection. Pork at 39 degrees, cheese at 38 degrees.
Status of establishment: Approved

The Rolling Stove, 26 Old Galisteo Way
Date inspected: Nov. 19
Violations: Two moderate-risk violations, one for improper holding — provide accurate food-grade thermometer to monitor food-holding temperatures. One for contaminated equipment — food scales unsanitary.
Notes: Caterer delivering cold sandwiches and salads directly to consumer. Provide new label (ingredients, date).

Ying Yang Chinese Restaurant, 418 Cerrillos Road
Date inspected: Nov. 14
Violations: Three low-risk violations for floors/walls/ceilings — the dry storage room floor is stained with a white flour kind of material. Repaint. The wall in the dry storage is stained. Repaint. Walk-in cooler is in the process of being fixed. Part ordered. All hazardous food items have been removed. Only produce stored. Call NMED when fixed. Some floor areas in the kitchen do not have core base. Seal.
