New York Deli, 420 Catron St.
Date inspected: Nov. 13
Violations: Seven high-risk violations. Walk-in refrigerator and cooling unit will not drain. Wet rag out of sanitizer bucket. Wet rags and ice in hand washing station. No soap at hand washing station. Employees had bare hand contact with ready to eat food. Chemicals stored next to dry storage area. Ice scoop stored incorrectly and have grime build up. Cutting board and dishwashing trays have grime build up on them. Two moderate-risk violations. Dust build up on food equipment. Fan in walk-in cooler and shades have dust and grime build up. One low-risk violation. Restroom doors need to be made self-closing.

Red Lobster, 4450 Rodeo Road
Date inspected: Nov. 13
Violations: Five high-risk violations. Ice machine is flooding and pooling water onto the floor. Insecticides stored in utensil storage area. Wet rag out of sanitizer bucket. Drink concentrate is stored at improper temperature. Ice scoop stored on top of counter. Beer line in bar area is discharging onto the tap line. Lid is open over water softener and has food build up. No testing devices or thermometer labels for dish machine. One moderate-risk violation. Grease build up on display equipment over oven and stove. Fan in cooker units have dust and mold build up on them.

Violations: One high-risk violation. Dented cans mixed in with good stock, which was corrected during inspection. One moderate-risk violation. Microwave is not ANIS/NSF approved. One low-risk violation. Employee restroom not in use, will be made into a utility room.

Date inspected: Nov. 15
Violations: Three high-risk violations. Ice build up in walk in freezer. Used mop water stored next to three-compartment sink. Three-compartment sink drain line is inside floor sink, three-compartment sink should have a one inch air gap above floor sink. Sanitizer and cleaning chemicals are stored over three-compartment sink. One moderate-risk violation. Handwashing station is blocked by mop bucket. One low-risk violation. Vents and fans have dust build up.

Violations: Four high-risk violations. Wet rag out of sanitizer bucket and no sanitizer in bucket. Chemicals stored over employees food. Exposed insulation on pipeline next to ice machine. Nacho cheese stored has to be disgarded after four hours. One low-risk violation. Vents and fans have dust build up and holes in walls in washing area.

Violations: Three high-risk violations. Green chili thawing in three-compartment sink without running water. Oven fork and pizza oven has food build up on it. Wet rag out of sanitizer bucket. One moderate-risk violation. Side, tops and under food equipment have build up.

Ying Yang Chinese Restaurant, 418 Cerrillos Road
Date inspected: Nov. 15
Violations: One moderate-risk violation. Dish washing sanitizing solution is available, but is not going through the tube, company was called and has since fixed the problem. Two low-risk violations. Some area of the kitchen floor is not sealed. Walls by food prep area, where the meat cutting is, are peeling.

Violations: Six high-risk violations. Ice scoop stored on top of food equipment with dust build up. Dented cans mixed with good stock. Can opener has build up. Side of refrigerator used as knife holder. Dish washing rack has grime build up. Cutting boards have build up and need to be made smooth. Four moderate-risk violations. Walk in refrigerator has no indicating thermometer. Fans from cooling units and shades have dust build up. Food equipment has grease build up. Walk in refrigerator and beer lines have mold build up. Microwave is not ANIS/NSF approved. One low-risk violation. Light in storage area has no protective cover.

Violations: Three high-risk violations. Food out of date. Beef stored over pork. Eggs stored over milk. Dented cans mixed with good stock. Three moderate-risk violations. Cold holding units have no indicating thermometers. Microwave is not ANIS/NSF approved. Fan/vents on cooling units have dust build up.

Java Joe’s, 2301 Rodeo Road
Date inspected: Nov. 16
Violations: Five high-risk violations. Wet rags out of sanitizer bucket. Food in display refrigeration not at proper temperature. Burritos are from a restaurant that does not have processing permit. Employee drinks and food in prep area. Eggs stored above ready to eat food. One moderate-risk violation. Handles to equipment have food build up.

Eldorado Bistro Restaurant
Date inspected: Nov. 12
Violations: None.

Sweetwater Harvest Kitchen, 1512 Pacheco St.
Date inspected: Nov. 4
Violations: One high-risk violation. Mashed potatoes hot holding temperature was not accurate, but was corrected during time of inspection. Two moderate-risk violations. Adequate stem thermometers are not available for the chefs. Ice scoops in ice machines in back and front kitchen areas were placed on dirty ice machine surfaces. Two low-risk violations. Kitchen floor was filthy and messy, but was cleaned up during time of inspection. Some jar boxes were stored on the floor in the kitchen. Management was told not to leave sanitizer test strips in the office and make sure the strips were used to monitor sanitizing solution.
