The following restaurant inspection reports were provided by the New Mexico Environment Department.

Date inspected: Aug. 3

Violations: One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — seal around door of prep refrigerator needs repair.

Violations: One moderate-risk violation for improper holding — door of prep refrigerator needs to be repaired.

Status of establishment: Closed. Owner doesn’t want to continue due to the need of USDA inspection process to get approved, which will take too long.

Violations: One high-risk violation for contaminated equipment — sanitizer 10-50 ppm bleach. Corrected.

Violations: One high-risk violation for plumbing/waste disposal — floor drain for veg. sink needs two-inch air gap, corrected.

Date inspected: Aug. 3

Violations: One low-risk violation for poor personal hygiene — food handlers must wear hair restraints. 

Notes: State regulations require all food handlers to wear hair restraints. This is a repeat violation.

Lovin’ Oven, 107 N. Riverside Dr.

Date inspected: Aug. 2

Violations: One high-risk violation for poor personal hygiene — need to replace hand towels at hand wash station. No towels available, dispenser not working. Corrected, soap replaced. Four moderate-risk violations, one for animals/vermin/openings — fruit flies present in facility. Need to insure flies of any kind are not persistent in facility; one for plumbing/waste disposal — mop water needs to be disposed of. Do not store; two for contaminated equipment — microwave home type, needs to be replaced with ANSI commercial-grade equipment; facility needs more cleaning and more frequently. Two low-risk violations for floors/walls/ceilings — floor needs cleaning, lots of equipment, sacks. Walls need cleaning, ceilings need cleaning. Facility needs thorough cleaning.

Date inspected: Aug. 6

Violations: One high-risk violation for poor personal hygiene — no soap, no towels available at hand washing sink. Corrected. Two moderate-risk violations, one for improper holding — no thermometer inside refrigerator; one for contaminated equipment — food equipment and food containers were not properly cleaned and sanitized after use.

Violations: Two low-risk violations, one for floors/walls/ceilings — walls in many areas need repair. One for ventilation/lighting — many lights out of order.

Violations: Three moderate-risk violations, one for improper holding — no food-grade thermometers available to monitor food holding temperature; two for contaminated equipment — no sanitizer test kit available to test sanitizing solution; unlabeled containers in the kitchen.

Violations: Three moderate-risk violations for contaminated equipment — no thermometer inside freezer; refrigerator thermometer inaccurate; no food-grade thermometer available to monitor food temp. One low-risk violation for administration — no food service permit posted. Restricted menu.

Violations: One high-risk violation for poor personal hygiene — hand sink has wet towel in it. Cannot be used for anything else, except hand wash. One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — QAT test strips are not available.

Notes: Yogurt machines that dispense yogurts are cleaned and sanitized once a week. Packaged powdered chlorine sanitizer used.

Notes: Walk-in cooler air temperature at 39 degrees. Under counter freezer unit air temperature at -4 degrees. OK to operate. Issue permit. Change of ownership.

Notes: Very clean kitchen, obvious good managerial control.

Date inspected: Aug. 1

Violations: Three high-risk violations, two for improper holding — McCall refrigerator at 50 degrees; food out of temperature, corrected. One for contaminated equipment — dishwasher needs service.

Notes: Must not use dishwasher until working and reinspected and McCall refrigerator reinspected.

Date inspected: Aug. 2

Violations: Two moderate-risk violations, one for improper holding — no thermometers available inside freezer. One for contaminated equipment — water leaking at three-compartment sink faucet. On low-risk violation for ventilation/lighting — light out of order in the kitchen.

Notes: Sanitizing bucket solution, QAT at 200 ppm, good. Test strips are available. Food refrigeration units, rice audit logs are all kept. Facility is kept in very good, clean condition. Employees were all wearing gloves and hats.

Date inspected: July 31, complaint

Notes: The splashguards have been installed in the hand sink close to the steam table foods. New cutting boards have been bought and will be replacing the existing ones. On the complaint, the management told me that their customer was the one to blame. They opened their car and the puppy ran out from car into the restaurant, but they puppy was grabbed immediately and placed on a leash in the patio area. Facility told to put up signs on the patio that notify customers to have dogs on leash in the patio area.
