The following restaurant inspection reports were provided by the New Mexico Environment Department. 

 

Santa Fe

 

Chaparral Elementary School, 2451 Avenida Chaparral

Date inspected: March 19

Violations: Two high-risk violations for poor personal hygiene — hot water not readily available at hand sink; paper towels in restroom need to be in dispenser. Corrected. One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — equipment restricts access to hand sink. Corrected. One low-risk violation for ventilation/lighting — filters on exhaust hood not in place. Employee drink in food refrigerator. Need test strips.

Status of establishment: Approved, no follow-up required.

 

Chopstix Oriental Food, 238 N. Guadalupe St.

Date inspected: March 13

Violations: One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — some equipment surfaces, rice cooker, reach-in refrigeration unit, dry storage room are filthy. Clean. Two low-risk violations, one for storage — bags of rice and paper servicing products were stored on the floor in the dry storage room area. One for ventilation/lighting — the exhaust hood area is greasy. Clean.

Cleopatra Café, 3482 Zafarano Road

Date inspected: March 12

Violations: Two high-risk violations for poor personal hygiene — hand sink in the kitchen had coffee pot stored in it. Corrected. The facuet for the cold running water is broken. Fix. One low-risk violation for floors/walls/ceilings — the vinyl tiles in both the mens and womens restrooms are torn and loose. Replace these tiles and seal these floors.

Status of establishment: Approved, follow-up March 25.

 

Evangelo’s Cocktail Lounge, 200 W. San Francisco St.

Date inspected: March 18

Violations: Two high-risk violations for poor personal hygiene — the cold-water faucet on the three-compartment sink in the bar is broken. Fix within one week. Paper towels were not available for the men’s restroom. One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — the towels in the facility are worn out and discolored. Provide new towels and soak with bleach water daily. Two low-risk violations, one for floors/walls/ceilings — the bar floor is messy. Lots of bottle caps on the floor. Clean regularly. One for storage — cases of sodas were stored on the floor.

Status of establishment: Approved, follow-up April 11.

 

Harry’s Roadhouse, 96-B Old Las Vegas Hwy.

Date inspected: March 18, complaint

Violations: Five high-risk violations, one for inadequate cooking/cooling — improper cooling. Corrected. Employees trained on site. Two for improper holding — black beans at 60 degrees, green chile at 55 degrees, chicken breast at 50 degrees. Corrected. Items destroyed; improper thawing, thawing frozen meats at room temperature. Corrected. Employees trained and demonstrated knowledge. Two for contaminated equipment — storing knives in sanitizing solution. Corrected; cold-hold salad prep out of temperature. Freezer’s rubber seal loose. One moderate-risk violation for contaminated equipment — some cutting boards discolored. Drying silverware with towel. Three low-risk violations, one for storage — granola stored on floor. Two for ventilation/lighting — unshielded light above salad prep; inadequate ventilation.

La Casa Café Ski Basin, 2290 Brothers Road

Date inspected: March 13

Violations: None

Status of establishment: Approved, no follow-up required.

 

Nasim LLC dba Burro Alley Café, 207 W. San Francisco St.

Date inspected: March 18

Violations: None

Notes: Facility is not operating at the moment. Extensive remodeling going on. Facility will call for re-opening inspection when remodeling is finished.

Status of establishment: Voluntary closure. Follow-up required.

 

Paisano Inc. #2, 5984 Airport Road

Date inspected: March 12

Violations: Two high-risk violations, one for improper holding — the shredded beef and green chile tripe on steam tables were not holding proper hot holding, 129 and 132 degrees. Corrected. One for storage — raw egg cases were stored above ready-to-eat foods. Corrected.

Notes: The three-compartment sink was not in use at inspection time, but chlorine and test strips were available. Facility looks a lot cleaner and better this year. The floors under the big kettles have been cleaned. The tiles under removed and the grease cleaned. Look very clean today.

Paisano Inc. #2 meat market, 5984 Airport Road

Date inspected: March 12

Violations: One low-risk violation for floors/walls/ceilings — the walls under the three-compartment sink are filthy. Clean and repaint.

Señor Murphy Candymaker, 1904 Chamisa St.

Date inspected: March 14

Violations: Three high-risk violations, for plumbing/waste disposal — backed-up floor drain in processing area. No sewer odor. Corrected by plumber. Water supply, dirty brown, stagnant leg. Corrected. Plumber cut line to unused equipment. Cross-connection at hand sink and at mop sink. Corrected. Three low-risk violations, one for storage — food items stored on floor, apples, corn syrup and cooking oil. One for poor personal hygiene — personal food containers stored above raw ingredients in refrigerator. Personal food items in processing area. One for floors/walls/ceilings — ceiling tile not smooth or easily cleanable. Back door and garage/warehouse door seals not complete.

Notes: Insufficient labeling requirements. Owner needs to schedule meeting with NMED to discuss and develop operational plan by April 29, 2013.

Date inspected: March 13

Violations: Two high-risk violations, for contaminated equipment — dishwasher sanitizer over 200 ppm. Corrected. Not testing sanitizer.
