LDS Pajarito Ward sponsors family history workshop
The Pajarito Ward of The Church of Latter Day Saints is sponsoring a free Family History Workshop. The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 26 at 1967 18th, off of 15th and Sage Streets. Find ancestors with familysearch.org and experts will be on hand for assistance.
The workshop will provide organizational tools to assist attendees on getting started on the genealogy of their families. Work stations with computers and tutorials will be available. Those interested are asked to bring names and dates to get started.
The LDS Church in Los Alamos also has a Family History Center that is open on Tuesdays. Anyone interested in their family history may use the information at the center. For more information call Don Reid at 662-0355.
Easter Story to be performed in S.F.
The Easter Story, Christ’s Passage to Resurrection as told in the Bibles, books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke is being presented by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The play will be performed with actors from Los Alamos, White Rock, Española and Santa Fe. Eddie Romero, of Santa Fe is director of the two ticketed performances.
Due to the demand for tickets, a third dress rehearsal performance is being opened free to the community. Seats will be available 7 p.m. Friday, for the final dress rehearsal performance on a first come first seated basis. The program will be presented in the Cultural Hall of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 410 Rodeo Road in Santa Fe.
Aaron’s Kids Closet opens again
Aaron’s Kids Closet opened its doors for the first time in March to serve the community.
The First United Methodist Church of Los Alamos ministry provides clothes and shoes to school age children at no cost. Aaron’s Kids Closet opened again on April 5.
Anyone can feel free to come shop for children’s needs.
To donate, drop off point is at the church office. Also contact the office for pick up. The church can be reached at 662-6277 or 660-0340 to make arrangements.
