Community worship day is Sunday

A community-wide worship service is going to be held at the Duane W. Smith Auditorium from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
The service is being sponsored by the following Los Alamos congregations and ministries: Celebrate Recovery, Christian Church, Church of Christ, Grace Vineyard, New Beginnings Assembly of God Church, La Vista Church of the Nazarene Church, New Life New Mexico, Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church, White Rock Presbyterian Church and White Rock Baptist Church.
It is the belief of these churches and ministries that there is only one Church in Los Alamos, in spite of the various names and distinctive doctrines and that the things that unite us far out way the things that divide us.
The public is invited to join in this time of united worship.

German dinner celebration in White Rock

Friends and neighbors of White Rock Presbyterian Church are invited to a German dinner to celebrate church relation to Aufverstehungskirche, 5:30 p.m. March 9 at the church at 310 Rover Blvd.
Bratwurst, red sour cabbage, hot German potato salad, green beans, a bread, drink and German chocolate cake are on the menu.
The Aufverstehungskirche is the home church of Irene Davis-Dellinger who taught special education classes in Los Alamos for many years.
Twenty some years ago, she told the White Rock congregation of the plight of the German church when a violent storm and war damage to the roof culminated and badly damaged the sanctuary.
The White Rock Presbyterian Church raised more than $1,000 that was delivered by Irene to the church’s pastor to help with restoration. The relationship exists to this day.
