Dan Rees was a dual winner at this week’s Pace Race.
The Pace Race, a weekly event hosted by the Atomic City Roadrunners, was run Tuesday at Power Line Road off NM 4.
Rees not only finished within one second of his predicted finish time Tuesday, but was also the fastest runner on the 3-mile course. Rees finished the long course with a time of 21 minutes, 44 seconds.
Tom Sandford had the next-closest prediction, 13 seconds, while Katie Gattiker was 15 seconds off. Gattiker was also the fastest female on the 3-mile course with her time of 34:15.
On the 1-mile course, 10-year-old Morgan Jones was the fastest finisher (10:56), while 7-year-old Zach Jones finished in 11:07.
The next Pace Race will be Tuesday starting at Quemazon Montessori School. Race time is 6 p.m.
