The fourth annual Red Fest will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Lift House Bar and Grill Backyard at Red River Ski Area. The all ages, outdoor event has announced this year’s entertainment.
The Green — Formed in 2009 on Oahu, Hawaii, The Green “fuses late 1970s-era dub-heavy roots reggae with strands of contemporary rock/pop/R&B and sporadic indigenous Hawaiian musical and lyrical references” (Billboard). Accolades include: Nominated in three categories in the International Reggae And World Music Awards (2012 and 2013), Debut album named iTunes Best Reggae Album of the Year (2010), Sophomore album “Ways and Means” spent four-weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Reggae Chart in 2011.
John Brown’s Body — John Brown’s Body formed (in Boston in the mid-1990s) at a time when there wasn’t what you’d call a U.S. reggae scene. JBB was one of a handful of groups that began touring nationally and created distinctly American reggae, steeped in traditional vibes, but incorporating elements from other genres.
