The Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation met Monday and decided to accept the resignation of executive director Scott Randall, who was charged with DUI and battery last week.
The board released the following statement Tuesday morning.
“’Last Thursday, as had been reported in the local press, LACDC Executive Director Scott Randall was arrested in Los Alamos on misdemeanor charges. In an effort to minimize any impact this might have on the LACDC, Director Randall promptly offered the LACDC Board his resignation, effective immediately.
“On Monday afternoon the full Board met to review the situation and voted to accept Director Randall’s resignation, despite his excellent performance to date. The Board felt that, whatever the final outcome of the charges, the publicity surrounding this incident had significantly impaired his ability to adequately represent the LACDC. The LACDC will immediately begin the search for a new Executive Director.”
LACDC board chair Bill Wadt said in an interview Tuesday morning that Connie Proulx, the business manager, will take over as interim director while the board conducts a nationwide search.
“The board is very familiar with her and she will be the interim director and the board has a lot of respect for her,” Wadt said.
