Time is running for employees and retirees of Los Alamos National Laboratory to register their volunteer hours.
LANL will host a “Making the Difference” event this summer to recognize the volunteer efforts of its employees and retirees. Laboratory employees and retirees who registered their volunteer service hours will receive an invitation to the event and be recognized with an appreciation gift.
In addition, recognition awards will be given to the nonprofit organization the volunteer supports based on the following criteria:
• 100 to 249 hours - $100;
• 250 to 500 hours - $250; and
• 500 hours or more - $500.
“The laboratory’s upcoming volunteer recognition event and National Volunteer Week reflects the power that volunteers have to inspire by example by encouraging those they help and motivating others to serve,” said Community Programs Office Director Kurt Steinhaus.
In order to be recognized, employees and retirees need to register the volunteer hours they served at any nonprofit 501(c)(3) during 2007. Volunteer hours should be registered and tracked on VolunteerMatch.
Registration of hours on VolunteerMatch must be completed by May 30.
