It’s the road to fame for the Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers. After playing a video game, a group of students decide they have what it takes to become a real rock ‘n roll band and set out to claim their fame. Want to find out what happens? The story unfolds during the Topper Revue, which begins Friday. While on their journey, the band of rock ‘n roll wanna-bes, made up of the revue emcees, will introduce the other performers who have also set out to prove they have talent. An opera diva, glow stick twirlers, ballroom dancers, members of the LAHS color guard and others will shine in the limelight. The emcees – Ryan Gallen, Alia George, Kelly Greeff, Alyse Jalbert, Calen McKenzie and Nathan Cournoyer, do not just merely introduce the different acts; they also perform little skits between numbers.Their role goes beyond performing; the six-member team also created the theme for the talent show and wrote the script.Nina Saunders, sponsor of the Olions Thespian Club, said the group brainstormed 40 ideas and selected the rock ‘n roll theme as the best.
