I love movies about spies. Espionage films are wonderful because the spies use their brains rather than their muscles to combat their enemies. I also admire all the elaborate disguises and fancy techno-gadets that are used to outwit the bad guys in these movies.
So I looked forward to watching “Duplicity” because it contains my favorite kind of heroes.
It didn’t disappoint. The movie’s IQ soars to the top of the charts with its witty script and clever plot twists.
I kept trying to guess where everything was heading but the movie was always one step ahead.
This movie isn’t just brainy, it is also attractive. The audience can take a visual tour of some beautiful destinations such as Italy and the Bahamas.
I also loved the scenes set in an extremely sparse and modern office that featured a single Bonsai Tree as well the shots of the cluttered headquarters for a private spy business hidden in a parking garage. The cast also makes the movie look good.
I love Paul Giamatti’s paranoid CEO character, Richard Garsik, as well as Tom Wilkinson’s devious character, Howard Tully.
Plus, the spies played by Julia Roberts and Clive Owen, just drip with suave sophistication.
