RAMON “CHICK” PRECIADO, 78, of Santa Fe, passed away October 21, 2008.
Chick was born in Sonora, Arizona in 1930. In 1960 he moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico, where he worked as a machinist in the labs and performed in musical theater. Chick continued to explore music, chiefly in the areas of dance and percussion, even after he retired to Santa Fe in 1990, he was the drummer for the Jose Gonzales trio, and sang and played congas with the Santa Fe Great Big Jazz Band. Chick was one of the great entertainers. We’ll sorely miss his musical passion and his personality.
Chick is survived by his daughters; Gina Preciado (Frank Schunter) of Pittsburg, PA, Toni Luterbach (Steve Luterbach) of Albuquerque, NM, and Erni Preciado (Steve Mayo) of Mankato, Minnesota, granddaughters; Jacqueline Rocklage (Eric) of Branford, CT, and Jennifer Biretz (Ken) of Seattle, WA, grandsons; Rene Luterbach (Jill) and Zachary Luterbach both of Albuquerque, NM, great granddaughter Elizabeth Rocklage of Branford, CT, and great grandsons; Kaden and Noah Lutherbach both of Albuquerque, NM.
A Memorial Service and Jam Session will be held at Tiny’s Lounge (1015 Pen Road, Santa Fe, NM South East Corner of Cerrillos and St. Francis Drive) on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 3:00pm.
