Police Beat items are compiled from public information contained in Los Alamos Police Department Records. Charges or citations listed in Police Beat do not imply innocence or guilt. The Los Alamos Police Department uses the term “arrest” to define anyone who has been physically arrested, served a court summons or issued a citation.
10:23 a.m. — A complainant on Central Avenue reported that a patient stole a printer from a doctor’s office.
2:04 p.m. — An unidentified 16-year-old Los Alamos male was cited at Los Alamos High School for possession of drug paraphernalia.
7:03 p.m. — A San Juan Lane caller wanted help relighting her pilot light on her water heater.
10:22 a.m. — An East Road caller reported that Hispanic people were running an extension cord from a house to the dog park.
11:42 p.m. — A San Ildefonso Road complainant reported that her vehicle had been stolen. The owner later learned that a friend had borrowed it.
2:58 p.m. — A 38-year-old Los Alamos man reported a stolen four-wheeler from his front yard.
9:13 p.m. — A Pajarito Ski Area caller reported that her husband wanted her to leave the country and she doesn’t want to.
7:14 p.m. — A 10-year-old called the police. The minor’s mother said her daughter called because she was having a temper tantrum.
4:13 a.m. — A Central Avenue caller reported that a door at the former Central Avenue Grill was unlocked and open.
11:30 a.m. — A Barranca Mesa Elementary School employee reported that there was a snake near the kindergarten area. The snake was relocated.
1:09 p.m. — A Diamond Drive complainant reported that his wife was not allowing him to get into their car. A similar incident had been reported before.
1:15 p.m. — A 75-year-old female reported that she had been threatened by a male at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
3:42 p.m. — Danielle Rodriguez, 37, of Los Alamos, was cited for drug paraphernalia possession.
3:42 p.m. — William Lopez, 41, of Los Alamos, was cited for drug paraphernalia possession.
7:24 p.m. — A 45th Street caller reported that her four-year-old was being defiant and requested that an officer come speak to the child.
10:03 p.m. — A 33rd Street complainant reported that a male threatened to shoot her when she went to pick up her dog from him.
1:05 a.m. — Monica Cooper, 45, of Los Alamos, was arrested for aggravated DWI for refusing to submit to chemical testing.
7:44 a.m. — A Grand Canyon Drive caller reported that she saw a six-year-old driving a motorcycle. The officer did not see the child, but rather saw a young man on a scooter.
8:49 a.m. — A 17-year-old female reported that she was the victim of criminal sexual conduct.
10:00 a.m. — A Dos Brazos Lane caller reported that there was a bird in his house. Officers were unable to locate the bird.
12:32 p.m. — Donald Peña, 33, of Santa Fe, was arrested on a bench warrant.
3:26 p.m. — Deborah Cook Cantrup, 57, of Española, was arrested for child abuse.
10:48 p.m. — Aaron Lopez, 25, of Española, was arrested for possession of more than an ounce of marijuana.
10:48 p.m. — Daniel Cruzchafino, 19, of Española, was arrested for possession of more than an ounce of marijuana.
2:35 p.m. — A Pajarito Ski area caller reported a loose goat.
3:35 p.m. — A complainant reported that a couple teenagers were throwing rocks at the geese at Ashley Pond.
