Pipe bursts at golf course

Steve Wickliffe, golf course manager, got an unwelcome surprise when he walked into his office Wednesday morning.
A burst water pipe caused quite a bit of damage to Wickliffe’s office. The burst pipe was discovered Monday. Wickliffe said county workers were able to isolate the pipe and the building should be utilized in a week or two.  It is currently closed.
“It’s unfortunate, obviously. I had just gotten back on Wednesday morning and came into the office and saw what had happen and it was quite a shock,”                                                                   Wickliffe said.
Bryan Aargon, project manager, said the pipe froze and then burst. He added work is being done to get the water functioning again so the restrooms may be used.
Wickliffe said there are plans to him to move into a temporary office at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center.
He will work out of the aquatic center until the temporary office is made in the old pro shop.
