County Council’s agenda for Tuesday night is light, however, there are a couple of big items that will be discussed. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Community Building.
The first item on the agenda is recognition and a proclamation of the services given to the county by Councilor Jim West. With the resignation of Councilor Jim West, Council Chair Jim Hall has requested that this item be placed on the agenda for a formal recognition of the service provided by Councilor West as he has served for the last six years as a councilor.
As a result of West’s resignation, the first item of business on Tuesday night will be a discussion surrounding the possible action council will take on filling the councilor vacancy.
Also on the business agenda for Tuesday night is the citizen petition that the county received on Nov. 24 regarding the Judicial/Police/Jail Complex. A total of 20 citizens have signed the petition, which states that they wish for the county to stop construction on the project because “it is too large in size, too high in cost and not ideal in location.”
In addition, the Public Works director will request approval of transit immediate resource needs and an associated budget revision.
