Air Force Airman William J. Kressin graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Kressin is the son of Paul and Mary Ann Kressin of Los Alamos. He graduated from a home-school program in 2011.

Leadership New Mexico has selected Robert Bransford, facilities and procurement manager at Los Alamos National Bank as the local leader from Los Alamos to be a part of the 29 participants in the 2013-2014 Connect New Mexico Program: “The Next Generation of Leadership.”

Michelle Boerigter, a Hope College sophomore from Los Alamos participated in the Pull, one of the nation’s oldest college traditions Sept. 28. She was an even-year moraler. The Pull started in 1898 and is an annual fall highlight at Hope College.
Each team has 18 students on the rope as “pullers” and 18 others acting as morale boosters or “moralers.” The classes are either even or odd year teams. The class of 2016 won the Pull this year.
Boerigter is the daughter of Stephen and Kathleen Boerigter and is a graduate of Los Alamos High School.
