Katie Dubois graduates from Mesa State
Katie Dubois of Los Alamos was among more than 1,200 students to graduate from Mesa State College May 15. Dubois graduated with a Bachelor of Science.
Founded in 1925, Mesa State College is a comprehensive regional public higher education institution offering liberal arts, professional, and technical programs at the master’s, bachelor’s, associate, and certificate levels.
Mesa State has an enrollment of more than 8,000 students.
Pvt. Forbes to serve in Iraq
Army Pvt. Braxton B. Forbes has deployed to Iraq to serve in support of Operation New Dawn.
Operation New Dawn formerly named Operation Iraqi Freedom. This transition signifies a formal end to U.S. military combat operations in Iraq.
Operation New Dawn shifts the U.S. emphasis from predominantly military to predominately civilian as the U.S. officials assist Iraqis in accordance with the Strategic Framework Agreement.
Forbes is a cavalry scout assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas.
He is the son of Angie Wolf of High Rolls and Chris Forbes of Los Alamos.
The private second class graduated in 2006 from Alamogordo High School.
