A pedestrian was hit on Main Street about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday and Los Alamos Fire Department transported the victim to Los Alamos Medical Center.
According to LAPD, emergency personnel were dispatched to 119 Central Park Square around the post office in reference to a vehicle in reference to the crash.
The LAPD statement said officers and medical personnel arrived on Main Street approximately 50 yards north of Central to find an elderly female lying in the roadway with apparent injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved, Steven Fode, 25, was interviewed by investigating officers and arrested and charged with reckless driving, but this morning the district attorney has dismissed the case against him, pending what happens to the injured pedestrian.
Fode was driving a 2006 Chevy mid-sized truck.
The condition of the victim is unknown at this time. Any witnesses to this crash are encouraged to contact the police department to assist in this investigation.
According to court records, Fode was charged with careless driving in 2012. In 2014, he was cited for not having car insurance as well as for speeding 1 to 10 mph over the speed limit. In 2011, he received a deferred sentence for failing to wear a seatbelt and for not having proper insurance.
