Pedestrian hit on Main Street

A pedestrian was hit on Main Street about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday and Los Alamos Fire Department transported the victim to Los Alamos Medical Center.

According to LAPD, , emergency personnel were dispatched to 119 Central Park Square around the post office in reference to a vehicle vs pedestrian crash.

The LAPD statement said officers and medical personnel arrived on Main St approximately 50 yards north of Central to find an elderly female laying in the roadway with apparent injuries. Medical staff transported the victim to the Los Alamos Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle involved, Steven Fode, 25, was interviewed by investigating officers and arrested and charged with reckless driving. Fode was driving a 2006 Chevy mid-sized truck.

LAPD said it is still investigating the crash therefore, Main Street will remain closed for a couple more hours. The condition of the victim is unknown at this time. Any witnesses to this crash are encouraged to contact the police department to assist in this investigation.
