The Special Education Bureau of the New Mexico Public Education Department is seeking nominations for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act State Advisory Panel.
The PED maintains the IDEA State Advisory Panel, as required by the IDEA, for the purpose of providing advice and guidance with respect to special education and related services for children with disabilities in New Mexico. The IDEA State Advisory Panel membership is renewed every year for three-year terms.
The PED is only seeking nominations of candidates who work in the field of higher education. The PED strives to have membership representative of the state population. The State Advisory Panel must be composed of individuals involved in, or concerned, with the education of children with disabilities. The SEB is seeking individuals who can serve a three-year term until June 2015.
The required IDEA State Advisory Panel membership and nomination forms can be accessed at the SEB website at ped.state.nm.us/SEB/index.html. The nomination forms and resumes must be mailed to:
