Dear Editor,
I see that Rep. Heather Wilson is making the statement that her opponent, Rep. Steve Pearce voted to “mothball Cannon Air Force Base.” What is wrong with that? It was certainly appropriate at the time, since there was no mission in sight then and the alternative was to accept the BRAC report and close the base permanently.
Also, she makes a broad-brush accusation that Steve voted to slash the lab budget without giving any particulars. Perhaps she could explain in detail what those votes entailed. How many jobs were involved – how many thousands?
It only takes a few seconds to scare the life out of people but it takes time to explain detail. The bogeyman may not be behind the door after all.
