A pair of camps get going this week at Chamisa Elementary School, courtesy of physical education teacher Justin Black.
Black will host his annual PE camps and youth basketball camps starting Monday and continuing through June 26.
The PE camp consists of several different activities, including “Dance Dance Revolution” and using scooters. The primary goal of that camp is to get students engaged in physical activity instead of lounging around all summer.
Those camps are for kids in grades 1-6, with the older students’ camp running from 8:30-10 a.m. and the younger kids from 10-11:30 a.m.
For the basketball camps, students in grades 3-8 may take part. Those are in the afternoons at Chamisa School and students with higher skill levels go from 5-6:30 p.m.
Price for participation is $45 per week per student. For more information, email Black at firstname.lastname@example.org.
