Karen Thorn was the top predictor at this week’s Atomic City Roadrunners’ Pace Race and by a wide margin.
Tuesday’s Pace Race was held at the Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail. Predictions on the Rim Trail were tough this week and most competitors finished with actual times considerably slower than predicted times.
Thorn, however, finished just eight seconds off her predicted time. No other runner finished closer than 151 seconds of their times.
The fastest finisher on the 1-mile course was Anya Gonzales, who posted a 15:58. On the 3.25-mile course, Jamie Jablin finished in 24:46 and Katie Gattiker had a 44:08.
The next Pace Race is scheduled for Tuesday. It will start at 6 p.m. at 1279 San Ildefonso Road on North Mesa.
