The Los Alamos Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that occurred about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
A 1996 Dodge Caravan, driven by a 42-year-old woman left the roadway, struck a gas meter and crashed through an exterior wall of the Quemazon Montessori School.
The school building and a gas line caught fire as a result of the crash.
The Los Alamos Fire Department contained and extinguished the fire.
The driver of the van along with two minor children who were occupants in the van, were uninjured.
Some 40 students and 19 school staff members were successfully evacuated from the school and no injuries were reported.
Students and staff were transported by public transit to the Pueblo Complex where students were released to their parents.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
