James Kelly Contemporary presents an opening reception for the artist, Arlene Shechet, from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the gallery, 550 S. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe.
Zane Bennett Contemporary Art will celebrate a sculpture installation by Pascal at Amelia White Park at 3 p.m. Saturday. The park is at the northeast corner of Old Santa Fe Trail and Camino Corrales. A reception will follow, from 3:45-5 p.m. at the gallery, 435 S. Guadalupe St.

Thirty New Mexico artists will participate in the Fall 2011 Contemporary Clay Fair from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Santa Fe Woman’s Club, 1616 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe.
The 23rd annual Winter Spanish Market will be Dec. 2-4 at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, 201 W. Marcy St., Santa Fe.
The 11th Annual Contemporary Hispanic Winter Market will be from 1-8 p.m. Dec. 9; and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. Among the works exhibited will be various types of modern media including: painting, sculptures, photography, printmaking, furniture, ceramics, jewelry and more. Admission is free.

For the first time in more than 30 years, the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture opens a major exhibition of North American Indian baskets on Friday. The exhibit will run through May 1. Since 1982, Santa Fe Vineyards has used art from well-known artists to label their wines and depict the spirit and culture of Santa Fe. Joining the portfolio of Santa Fe Vineyards labels from artists Amado Peña and Carrie Fell, is retablo artist Virginia Marie Romero. From 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Romero will be at Estrella Del Norte Vineyards, home of the Santa Fe Vineyards, to sign the newly released 2010 merlot label for customers.
