Colette Campbell-Jones will display, “Stories From Underground,” visual reconstructions of oral histories from the coal miners in South Wales. The exhibit will run through July 30 at photo-eye Gallery, 376-A Garcia St., Santa Fe. An opening reception will be from 5-7 p.m. June 3.
Jennifer J.L. Jones will exhibit, “Serenata,” new paintings at Hunter Kirkland Contemporary, 200-B Canyon Road, Santa Fe. An opening reception will be from 5-7 p.m. May 27. The exhibit continues through June 12.
The Jemez Fine Art Gallery and Jemez Artisans Gallery will sponsor the second annual “Jemez Creative” outdoor art fair in Jemez Springs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Jemez Mountains artists and artisans will demonstrate, create and sell their work on the walkway along Highway 4, south of the Jemez Springs Village Plaza. Wednesday, June 15: William deBuys will give a talk on “A Great Aridness: Climate Change and the Southwest” as part of the Brainpower and Brownbags Lecture Series 2011 at the New Mexico History Museum Palace of the Governors.
DeBuys is an avid environmentalist and the author of six books, including “Enchantment and Exploitation,” “Salt Dreams” and “River of Traps,” which was a finalist for the 1991 Pulitzer Prize. His latest book project is “A Great Aridness,” which explores the likely impact of climate change on the Southwest.
David Geist will perform at Pranzo Italian Grill, 540 Montezuma Ave., Santa Fe, from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Saturday with Ted Lowry and Sunday. $2 cover charge.
Santa Fe New Music’s 10th anniversary concert will be at 7:30 p.m. June 24 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 107 W. Barcelona Road at Galisteo Street, Santa Fe. The Dixon Community Players will present Holly’s Follies: A Tribute to Broadway at 7:30 p.m. June 3 and 4 at the new Dixon Community Playhouse. The show is the razzle-dazzle of the American Musical Theater from Vaudeville to Music Man. This is the first full season beginning with this spring production and in the fall, they will perform Lucky Stiff, a murder mystery musical farce.
