At 1 p.m. Jan. 23, the New Mexico History Museum will host a special event in the auditorium honoring the New Mexico, a battleship that saw significant action in World War II. Cmdr. George Perez, commanding officer of the SSN-779, and Dick Brown, chairman of the U.S.S. New Mexico commissioning committee, will speak. Refreshments will be served. Lannan Readings and Conversations presents Tom Englehardt with Jeremy Scahill at 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Lensic Performing Arts Center.
