SANTA FE — New Mexicans can file their state personal income tax returns online for 2009 starting Tuesday, the state tax department announced today.
This is the 22nd year that some form of e-filing has been available to New Mexico taxpayers.
“E-filing is safe, secure and free. It not only saves the state time and money, but will also get New Mexicans their tax refunds more quickly and directly,” said Rick Homans, Secretary of the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department.
The tax-filing deadline for taxpayers with paper returns is April 15. The tax deadline for e-filers is extended until April 30, 2010.
