The Omaha Storm Chasers scored in each inning between the fourth and the eighth to thump the Albuquerque Isotopes Tuesday.
Omaha pounded out 19 hits off four Isotopes pitchers and scored three runs each in the sixth and eighth innings to win 13-6 in the series opener.
With the loss, Albuquerque slips to 8 games under .500 (32-40), tying its worst record of the season. Albuquerque has lost three of its last four and seven of its last nine contests. It trails Las Vegas by 9 games in the PCL Pacific Southern division.
The Isotopes’ series at Omaha continues until Friday.
The Storm Chasers’ Paulo Orlando and Jesus Flores combined to go 8-for-9 with three home runs and 6 RBI to aid in the rout.
Albuquerque starting pitcher Red Patterson (4-5) was roughed up in his five innings, giving up 6 earned runs and 11 hits.
