The Regional Coalition of LANL Communities has announced that the Pueblo of Ohkay Owingeh has become an official voting member of the Regional Coalition. In joining the Coalition, Ohkay Owingeh will participate as a full voting member of the board.
“We are extremely pleased to be the first Pueblo to join the Regional Coalition of LANL Communities. We look forward to participating and supporting this most worthwhile effort,” said Ohkay Owingeh Governor Ron Lovato.
The Regional Coalition of LANL Communities is now comprised of eight communities surrounding the Department of Energy’s Los Alamos National Laboratory. Founded in 2011, the Regional Coalition works in partnership to ensure national decisions incorporate local needs and concerns.
The organization’s focus is environmental remediation, regional economic development, site employment and adequate funding for LANL.
