The North Class 4A/5A All-Star volleyball team prevailed over its counterparts from the South Monday night.
The North-South volleyball matches were Monday at Albuquerque High School. Players from six New Mexico classifications were in action for the final prep contests in the careers of the participants.
The All-Star Games are hosted by the New Mexico High School Coaches Association. Graduating senior student-athletes are selected by coaches from around the state for the honor.
The 4A/5A team included a pair of Los Alamos graduates, Savanah Romero and Danielle Ortiz.
The 4A/5A match was close, but the North prevailed in the best-of-3 contest in straight sets, 26-24, 25-20. The North also won the Class 2A/3A match, 18-25, 25-19, 25-16, but the South All-Stars prevailed in the small-school match, 25-16, 25-17.
