The Los Alamos High School NJROTC made history on Feb. 19 by placing third at the Area 9 Regional Academic, Drill, and Fitness competition in Overland Park, Kan. It’s the first time since the unit’s inception in 1983 that they have qualified for this meet. The NJROTC placed in three different events; second place in the Unit Inspection; third place in Academics; third place in Color Guard; and the team finished third place overall. While in Kansas, the students also visited the National World War I Museum in Kansas City and were able to share in a part of the nation’s history.
