The Los Alamos Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps precision air rifle team recently traveled to the Civilian Marksmanship Program air gun range in Anniston Ala., to compete in the 2011 Navy JROTC National Championships. The team of Jodi Cull-Host, Corrie Theesfeld, David Trimmer, Cory Aslin and John Gibson qualified sixth nationally out of more than 3,000 shooters and were among the top 12 teams qualified to participate.
The team finished sixth, just missing an invitation to compete at the all-service JROTC Championships in March. Cull-Host, who finished 14th overall individually, received a medal and an invitation to the service championships.
