The NMED/LANL hazardous waste permit hearing begins again at 9 a.m. Wednesday, at the Courtyard by Marriott, 3347 Cerrillos Rd. in Santa Fe.
The hearing and the public comment period may end Friday.
The public comment period begins at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Anyone wishing to comment must be there at that time. If no comments, the Hearing Officer will return to the hearing process.
Concerned Citizens for Nuclear Safety (CCNS) and Honor Our Pueblo Existence (H.O.P.E.) will present a rebuttal technical expert – via telephone – about open burning at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
After the CCNS and H.O.P.E. presentations, NMED will continue its case regarding groundwater.
Later Wednesday and possibly on Thursday morning, Citizen Action New Mexico will begin its case, followed again by CCNS.
