ALBUQUERQUE - It's official - Pete Domenici Jr. formally announced his candidacy for governor of New Mexico during a press conference at the Embassy Suites earlier this afternoon.
He was surrounded by several members of the vast Domenici clan.
His father, retired Sen. Pete Domenici, R-N.M., introduced his son with exuberant pride, describing him as a problem solver and someone who loves New Mexico and its people.
Domenici Jr., an Albuquerque attorney, joins a field of four other Republican gubernatorial candidates including Janice Arnold-Jones of Albuquerque, Susana Martinez of Las Cruces and Doug Turner and Allen Weh of Albuquerque.
Lt. Gov. Diane Denish is the lone Democrat running for governor.
