Geraldine Keane was working at Pajarito Mountain Ski Area this winter when she was asked to take another position at the ski area, the food and beverage manager of Pajarito Mountain Café.
“I took it because I love food and beverages,” she said. “It’s a fun time.”
As result, Keane became the new food and beverage manager in January.
This wasn’t a new experience for Keane; she has been involved in the food and beverage industry in the past. Keane said she ran the restaurant and bar at the American Legion for 6 years.
She also worked in the UPEX store. Keane describes herself as a “busy, multi-worker.”
She added, “I love to cook.” Keane said she has had a lot of fun “throwing out recipes” and treating the ski employees as guinea pigs for her creations.
“And they’re honest,” Keane said. “They’ll tell me whether they like it or not.”
As the food and beverage manager, Keane said her duties include preparing the food and cooking, as well as following the rules and regulations of the state of New Mexico for cleanliness and food preparation.
She added she also oversees the lodge.
