BYERS – Neale Byers, 78, formerly of Los Alamos, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, in Arvada, Colo., from complications of lymphoma. He was the only son of Ellis and Lucille Byers, longtime residents of Los Alamos. The Byers family moved to Los Alamos from Illinois in 1945. Neale attended high school in Los Alamos, graduating in 1948. He was a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Neale was a member of the Engineering department at Los Alamos National laboratory for 38 years.Neale is survived by his wife Helen of 51 years who resides in Arvada, Colo.; son, Mark Byers and wife Jolene and their sons Daniel and Timothy of Los Alamos, N.M.; daughter, Cheri Vikdal and husband Michael and their son, Austin and daughter, Alyn of Arvada, Colo. Neale was loved and cherished by many other family and friends and will be missed dearly. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home at 623 N. Railroad Avenue, Espaola, New Mexico.
