Anthony Mortillaro walked into the North Central Regional Transit district (“NCRTD”) May 8, 2011 and wheels started turning. Appointed Interim Executive Director after Josette Lucero retired from the NCRTD at the end of April; he immediately began to review policies and procedures and took time to visit with each member of the administrative staff.
The team has also stepped up and revved their engines. Finance has completed the 2009 audit, 2010 is near completion and we are poised to begin the 2011 audit.
The NCRTD Board of Directors directed, and staff is pursuing grant funds for FTA – Tiger Greenhouse Gases, State of Good Repair, Livability and HUD Sustainable Communities. By December 2011, we expect to know if we will be awarded grant monies. Staff is collaborating to develop and fine tune policies and procedures to support and enhance efficiency and transparency within the NCRTD. It brought forth a Special Charter and Financial Policy and the Board of Directors approved both.
