It’s back! Los Alamos Little Theatre announces a special New Year’s Eve performance and celebration, complete with mystery, excitement, and fun. The Little Theatre is inviting the community to come and ring in the New Year with a special performance of Agatha Christie’s “Go Back for Murder,” a compelling murder mystery. “Go Back for Murder” tells the story of Carla Crale, whose deceased mother Caroline was wrongfully accused of murdering Amyas Crale. Before she died, Caroline professed her innocence to Carla through a letter, and so Carla and the audience embark upon a desperate attempt to discover Amyas’ true killer.
“Go Back for Murder” is a classic “whodunit” from the pen of the master of suspense. Intrigue, murder and the final unraveling of the mystery as only Agatha Christie can do. This is a story about a series of characters and how these characters are connected to each other in the murder of a painter. Each character is captivating, complex and unpredictable, and it the job of the audience to discover which character was the culprit of this crime.
Before dying in prison for supposedly poisoning her husband 15 years ago, Caroline wrote her daughter Carla that she was clearly innocent. Carla believes her mother to be truthful and enlists the aid of Justin Fogg, son of her mother’s defense attorney, who had fallen in love with Caroline while observing her trial. They persuade those present on the day of the murder to return to the scene and reenact their recollection of the events on the day Aymas is poisoned while painting Elsa — his latest infatuation.
The special New Year’s Eve performance of Go Back for Murder also features appetizers (served before the show and during intermission) and a catered dinner (following the performance) – all courtesy of Santa Fe’s Cowgirl BBQ, as featured on Rachael Ray’s “$40 a Day” Food Network program. An evening of dancing and party favors will round out an unforgettable experience that is sure to be filled with entertainment, good eats, and plenty of opportunities for mingling.
Doors for the show will open at 7:15 pm on Dec. 31 and the performance will begin at 8 pm.
